| CAR DEALERS ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY
The important thing to understand right off the bat is
that car dealers are in the business to sell. They are not
your friends, and surprise, surprise, they do not have your
best interest at heart. A dealer wants to make the most
money that he can.
BE INFORMED - THAT'S YOUR BEST SECURITY
As a customer, if you are not informed about all of your
options, you will end up giving the dealer more money than
would someone who is better informed. The person who is
informed and drives a hard bargain will spend less than
you will.
There are some dealers out there who are intentionally
unscrupulous and have absolutely no compassion whatsoever
when it comes to customers and their money. And then, there
are some dealers who are just trying to make a good living.
However, if you give them just a hint that you are an uninformed
consumer, they will do all they can to make sure they make
the most money. And don't fool yourself. Dealers know a
lot of tricks to make a ton of money.
DEALERS LIKE TO CONFUSE YOU
You may be asking yourself why buying a car is complicated
and makes you feel intimidated. Why can't it be as simple
as buying oranges or bananas? You see what you like. Pay
a fair price for the items you like, and you go on your
way. You see, buying a car is very different from this standard
retail procedure. There are many reasons for this difference.
